Łagiewniki Chapel

Łagiewniki woods are on the outskirts of the city. The woods are really nice all year round and always have great opportunities for photographs. On the periphery of the woods is a monastery that the chapel in the picture originally belong to.

The wooden chapel was originally built in on the site of the monastery. As the monastery became part of the pilgrimage route to Częstochowa the chapel was too small for the number of worshipers. The chapel was moved into the woods near the monastery and a larger church was built in its place.

When I came across the chapel I thought it was great and the dark and paler wood caught my eye as they contrasted each other  and really caught your eye through the saturated green of the wood it stood out even from a distance.

It was quite had to capture the picture with no people so there was quite a lot of hanging around. I intended the image to be a HDR so I took 5 exposures two stops up and down from the correct exposure reading. I then imported the images into Photomatrix and exported the HDR into camera raw and then Photoshop. In Photoshop I controlled the colour toning and then sharpened.
