Where you stood

A couple of days ago walking around my neighbourhood I cam across these apples. They where lying in the sand/dirt near some abandoned houses and sheds. Just like the buildings the fruit had fallen and become rotten. For me where I stood the parallel between the fruit and the neighbouring buildings was striking.

If we don’t care for the areas where we live and discard buildings like we do food, we will just have rubbish dumps of living areas. I am always surprised when I see advertising for new blocks of flats or housing developments on green fields when there are plenty of old, empty or abandoned buildings that with similar work can be made into living areas.
