Yesterday I was listening to a talk by a photographer who described her battle with dyslexia in school. The photographer was never expected to pass exams until the UK government then changed the qualification at the end of High School to GCSEs and she was able to study Photography.
Photography became her mode of communication. Her stories were now told through the medium of photography and single images became her poems.
In a way her comments rang true inside of me and also took me back to the origin of the word photography, meaning writing with light.
