Mothers day is one of those holidays that falls on different days for different countries. Since today seems to be mothers day for America and Australia, I thought I would share this shot of a mother duck with her ducklings that I took on Friday.

It was taken in the park that I walk through nearly everyday on my way to work. In the middle of the park is a pond with an island set in slightly at one end. It is here that I first noticed a few days ago the noise of freshly hatched chicks. Heading through the park on Friday I saw the mother duck taking her ducklings for a swim and wished I had a longer lens with me, but I made do although the mother got a little testy with me from time to time when I got too close.

To all those celebrating mothers today I hope you have a great day.
