Next to my school there is a brownfield site that in the summer looks pretty green with all the wild grass and weeds that spring up. Last year there was one cat living here and someone had given him a makeshift shelter. As winter came and we got into -20 Celsius, I called the cat shelter and they came and rescued him. This year there are now three cats living here, two black and this one which is white with ginger spots. Unlike the previous occupant they are more wary of humans and won’t come up to the metal fence but they will stand as sentry guards looking out through the grass.
When taking this picture it was one of those occasions where you had to have your camera on you. I was waiting for the bus and quickly whipped out my camera when I noticed him looking out at me. I managed to shoot four bursts before my bus appeared at the end of the road.

Thanks Janice, I think the eyes were to scare you away from his patch.
