On the old town side of Charles bridge in Prague is this amazing Gothic Tower. The tower like the rest of Charles Bridge is black from fire damage and was built in 1380 as part of Prague’s Fortification system. The tower was design to protect the old town from northern raiders. It has suffered partial damage after a failed attack by Maraudering Swedes in 1648.
I have had NikSoft’s filter collection for a while but never bothered to install everything. I really only got it for Color and Silver Efex. Editing the picture this week I wanted more structure (detailed midtone contrast) but didn’t want to use the detail enhancer in Color Efex. Instead I installed the other filters from niks collection and loaded Viveza. Viveza was the solution I was looking for, I added structure using a control point, this meant the adjustment only effected the tower and brought out the texture I wanted. I think I will head over to the Niksoft’s YouTube channel and check out some of their tutorials on this filter.
